We are here for you and open for business but working in a different way. Please continue to contact us if you are concerned about your health. Rather than the traditional face to face consultation, we will contact you by telephone or video link in the first instance.
Please telephone reception as normal on 01736 753136. If a consultation is needed you will be added to the telephone call list. You will get a phone call back by a doctor. We aim for this to be your registered doctor. If they are not working that day, it will be another member of the team.
The doctor may ask to perform a video consultation. To do this you will need a smart phone. You will then receive a text message with a link on it. Click on this link and it will load the consultation. It may ask you to download an app. We are using NHS approved software to do this and it is safe and secure.
If we can address the issue with a phone call or video consultation then this will complete the consultation.
If together we decide we can't complete the consultation without physical examination we will invite you into surgery or visit you at home if you are housebound.
If you are asked into the surgery, Doctors and Nurses will be wearing protective equipment (masks, aprons and gloves). We know that people can transmit Coronavirus with very limited symptoms. If our staff become unwell we will struggle to provide a good level of care to our patients.
Our front door is closed but our reception team are accessible via the intercom. However, if your enquiry is something that can be dealt with by telephone 01736 753136 or by email to email@example.com , this is a safer way to contact us rather than you attending the surgery. If you have an appointment, you will be given instructions to send us a text message when you arrive and we ask you to remain in your car or outside (keeping to the social distancing advice of 2 meters) until we call you in for your appointment. Our doctors and nurses will meet you at the door.
You will not be able to pre-book appointments with the doctor at this time. Everything will happen that day or the next day, as appropriate. If you require any follow-up, your doctor will arrange this with you.
You can also use e-Consult. This involves completing a questionnaire which is sent electronically to your doctor. You will receive a response by 6pm the next working day and often sooner. You can do this through the e-consult link above.
We are very grateful for your understanding and we would like to say thank you for all the support we have received during this difficult time.
The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal. There is no need to order your medication early. We are unable to prescribe any more than your usual amount of medication as this will have an impact on supply for other patients.
Please talk to your pharmacy if you have any questions
We would like your help to slow the spread of COVID-19 and identify at risk cases sooner by self-reporting your symptoms daily, even if you feel well. Please download the app https://covid.joinzoe.com/ and join millions of people supporting scientists to fight the virus. Help identify (a) how fast the virus is spreading in our area (b) high-risk areas (c) who is most at risk, by better understanding symptoms linked to underlying health conditions.
